Almond Butter Swirl Brownies

Perfect Chocolate + Almond Butter Combination

One of my favorite combinations is chocolate and almond butter. These almond butter swirl brownies definitely did not disappoint. They are super easy to make and require simple and healthier ingredients.

Everything is combined into one bowl, so you don’t have to worry about a big mess. The worst part about baking is cleaning, so I made sure there wasn’t a ton of different bowls used.

The vegan yogurt and applesauce mixture gives these brownies the perfect fudgy texture. If you want to add in chopped nuts, that will also taste super good. My favorite way to eat these brownies is to heat them up in the microwave and add a scoop of ice cream and sprinkles.

For the swirl, the easiest way to do it is with a toothpick. Add a dollop of almond butter and use the toothpick to swirl it around. Make sure to add the almond butter throughout the brownie so the swirls cover the whole thing.

For this recipe I used cacao powder. Cacao powder is the less processed version of cocoa powder. Cacao powder is super nutritious and packed with flavonoids. There are known to lower blood pressure and aid in preventing blood clots.

Maple syrup: any liquid sweetener will work. Make sure it is LIQUID (honey, agave, date syrup, etc.)

Almond butter: any nut or seed butter will work (cashew, peanut, sunflower, etc.)

Vegan yogurt: any nondairy yogurt will work. If you prefer traditional yogurt, that will also work.

Cacao powder: cocoa powder will also work.

Chocolate chips: any chocolate chips will work. You can also chop a chocolate bar and add that.

I wouldn’t recommend using a different flour other than almond flour. I haven’t tested any other flours. If you are allergic to nuts, the closest flour would be oat flour. The measurements will be a little off though.

These will last in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. If you want these to last longer, they can be stored in the freezer.
