4 Ingredient Protein Bites
Quick Healthier Snack
I am always looking for quick and healthier snacks when I’m on the go. These 4 ingredient protein bites are the perfect thing to make. They are no-bake and take maximum 10 minutes to make. The longest part is waiting for the chocolate to harden.
I always have these in my freezer when I need a quick snack. They also work for dessert and really satisfy my sweet tooth from the chocolate and also have added healthy fats from the almond butter and protein.
A lot of the protein snacks you can buy at the store are super overpriced and typically filled with tons of sugar and added ingredients. I love making these at home, so I know what I’m consuming, but also it is typically cheaper.
This recipe is also pretty versatile. You can use any rice cake you prefer, any nut butter, any protein powder, and any chocolate.
I love switching up the combinations each time I make these. I use white chocolate sometimes with cashew butter and add fruit.
TIP: when melting your chocolate add a teaspoon or two of coconut oil. It helps the chocolate melt easier and makes it easier to work with and spread.
You can cut these into any size you prefer. I typically just cut mine into small squares. You can also just break it up like a yogurt bark type thing.
Rice cakes: I typically always use plain, no added sugar rice cakes. You can use any rice cake you want.
Protein powder: I use vanilla protein powder in this. Any of your preference will work.
Chocolate: any chocolate works. White chocolate, normal chocolate, chocolate chips, chopped chocolate bar, etc.
Almond butter: you can do any nut or seed butter. If you use peanut butter, it would be like a PB cup!
Other possible combinations:
Triple chocolate: Chocolate rice cake, chocolate protein powder, sunflower seed butter, and chocolate
Berry: plain rice cake, berry protein powder, almond butter, white chocolate + chopped berries.
Snickers: plain rice cake, chocolate protein powder, peanut butter, chocolate + chopped nuts.
When I state in the directions to add the crushed rice cakes to the bowl, it just means rip into pieces with your hands. You don’t want a fine texture. You want small-medium sized chunks.
