Oreo Chocolate Chip Cookies

Oreo Chocolate Chip Cookies

Chewy, Chocolatey, Delicious

Oreos will forever be one of my favorite cookies ever. I can’t believe I’ve never made a recipe for Oreo chocolate chip cookies. I finally did and these did not disappoint.

If you are a fan of anything Oreo trust me, you need to try these. They are the perfect combination of chewy but also a little crunchy. They are always a hit in my house!

This cookie recipe is the perfect base to add in literally whatever you want. I’ve tried sprinkles, fruits, nuts, etc. These can also be sugar cookies as well. The next one I’m looking to try is snickerdoodle! If you try any other variations, please let me know, I’d love to see.

Vegan butter: you can use any vegan butter you prefer. Be sure it is melted. If you aren’t vegan traditional butter should also work.

Sugar: I did a mix of white sugar and coconut sugar. You can do all white or all coconut or substitute the coconut sugar for brown sugar. I wouldn’t recommend all brown sugar.

Oreos: you can do any cookie of your choice.

Chocolate chips: any chocolate chips work or you can chop a chocolate bar.

The only flour I have tested is all-purpose flour. If you are gluten-free an all-purpose gluten-free flour should also work.

A lot of people are confused when they see I use applesauce in a lot of my recipes. If you’ve never baked with it, it just gives a very moist and fluffy texture. It is mainly to replace oil.

The recipe makes about 7 large cookies. If you want a bigger batch, just double the recipe. These store well in the freezer or refrigerator.

Ingredients:

  • Vegan butter

  • Sugar

  • Applesauce

  • Baking powder

  • All-purpose flour

  • Oreos

  • Chocolate chips

Recipe:

  • 1/3 cup vegan butter melted

  • ¼ cup white sugar

  • ¼ cup coconut sugar (or brown sugar)

  • 2 tablespoons applesauce

  • ½ teaspoon baking powder

  • ¾ cup all-purpose flour

  • ½ cup chocolate chips

  • 10-12 Oreos

Directions:

1.    Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

2.    Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper or spray with cooking spray.

3.    In a small bowl melt the butter.

4.    Transfer to a larger bowl and add the sugar and applesauce.

5.    Stir until combined.

6.    Add in the baking powder and all-purpose flour.

7.    Mix until a dough has formed. Fold in the Oreos and chocolate chips.

8.    Scoop using a cookie scoop or about 2 tablespoons each and transfer to baking tray.

9.    Bake for 11-13 minutes.

Allow to completely cool before eating. I would recommend storing these in the refrigerator. They should last up to 5 days. You can also store them in the freezer if you want them to last longer. If you store them in the freezer, allow to thaw for 10-15 minutes before eating or warm up in the microwave for 15-20 seconds.

If you try this recipe and enjoy it, I would love if you could press the “like” button at the bottom of this page or leave a comment. Either one of those really helps me out!
