Sprinkle Cookies
Sprinkles Make Everything Better
These sprinkle cookies remind me so much of my childhood. I remember buying those huge sprinkle filled cookies every time I went out as a kid. I recreated them and this version is dairy-free, egg-free, and completely vegan.
Many people would never be able to guess these are vegan. This recipe is also super quick to make, and everything is mixed together in one bowl. There is no need to chill the dough, so you have perfectly delicious cookies within a short time.
After testing this recipe, I have found that the longer these cookies sit the better they taste. I allowed them to sit out on the counter overnight and the next day they tasted even better.
I wouldn’t recommend leaving them on the counter for longer than overnight. They will last longer in the refrigerator.
You can omit the sprinkles in this recipe if you want just a traditional sugar cookie. You can also add in chocolate chips or whatever you want.
The texture of these cookies is more of a soft texture compared to hard and crunchy. If soft cookies are your preference, you should definitely try these.
Vegan butter: any vegan butter will work. Make sure it is melted. I haven’t tested traditional butter. However, I assume it will work as well.
Nondairy milk: any nondairy milk will work (cashew, almond, soy, etc.) Traditional milk should also work.
Sugar: any GRANULATED sugar will work (white, brown, etc.) Be sure to not use liquid sweetener it won’t work the same.
Sprinkles: any sprinkles will work. I added in the recipe to use ½ cup. You can use more or less depending on your preferences.
The all-purpose flour shouldn’t be substituted. The texture will be very different if it is. You could try doing half almond flour and half all-purpose flour if that is your preference.
